Yacoubian Building Under Attack...

Yacoubian Building is a book I enjoyed reading and the
movie was only an ok watch due to the extensive commercialisation of the story that was done...
In the time being, some of the
Egyptian MPs did not agree with me and many other people I know who have watched the movie...and the MPs took a similar stand to my Tunisian French colleague who saw the movie but then expressed how he things that not everything that exits in reality is to be put in a movie...I think that would make any movie nothing but a manifestation of the hypocrisy of this society and culture...
I just hope that the Egyptians will not let some MP decide on what is it that they are to watch or read...(like with the banning of the Da Vinci Code, both the movie and the book, the latter a few years after its been available in most English bookstores, even more ironically books written about the Da Vinci Code are still on sale in bookstores!!)
Some bloggers have already been talking about this and there have been a number of responses...Some of the responses were extremely funny (ironically)...
Read this letter written by Mohamed El Sharqawi, fellow blogger, who was detained by the State Security for his "activism".
