Face-veils
Testing out the pic uploading so thought of uploading pics relevant to the discussions we are having at the moment... The second one is of a Bahraini lady voting at the recent first-ever national council elections...

my religion teacher in high school told me when i asked him about the face-veil:
if a woman is too attractive despite of the normal veil, or too ugly that she attracts attnetion then she should wear a face veil to protect herself from the stares of men.
but for other "regular" women, they do not have to wear a face veil
As far as I understand...there is no mention of a face veil anywhere but its always optional like you were mentioning Luly...
